Who is Shaykh Ramzy Ajem?
|
Shaykh Ramzy Ajem played a pivotal role in the establishment of Masjid Vaughan between the years of 2017 and 2019, marking the inauguration of the first mosque for the Sunni Muslim community in the city of Vaughan. In his capacity as the project chairman, Shaykh Ramzy, alongside a dedicated core team from Risalah Foundation, mobilized the community to embrace the transformation of an old church building on 9954 Keele St, Maple, Ontario. Designated as both a place of worship and a preserved heritage site, this building emerged as a central focus for collaborative endeavors. Through a concerted donation campaign, led by Ramzy Ajem, and the support of the local community, coupled with Islamic financing, it was successfully acquired, restored and opened for services on April 15, 2018. Currently, Shaykh Ramzy fulfills the role of Executive Director at Risalah Foundation, overseeing the administration of four community projects: Masjid Vaughan, Muslim Family Academy, Dar al-Burhan, and the Network of Reintegration and Muslim Mentorship (NORMM).
