What is Muslim Family Academy?
The Muslim Family Academy is a unique Islamic weekend learning program at Masjid Vaughan for children and youth ages 5 to 19. Its primary objective is to nurture in each student a lasting love of Allah ﷻ, His Messenger ﷺ, and the Qur’an, while cultivating confident Muslim identity, sound character, and meaningful connection to the faith. As students mature, they progress through age-appropriate learning in sacred knowledge—including Theology (ʿAqidah), Jurisprudence (Fiqh), Spirituality (Ihsan), Etiquettes and Values (Akhlaq), and Prophetic Biography (Sirah)—alongside mentorship, discussion, and relevant contemporary topics. Through engaging weekend academies, the Shaping the Muslim Teen Seminar, and personalized Qur’an coaching, MFA combines sound Islamic learning with a thoughtful, contextual approach that equips young Muslims to understand, practice, and confidently live their faith in North American society.
