Dhul Hijjah 1446 begins Wednesday, May 28th, 2025 and marks the beginning of one of the most sacred periods in the Islamic calendar. As a community, this is our opportunity to draw near to Allah through devotion, remembrance, and righteous action.
A Sacred Time in the Qur’an
Allah ﷻ swears by these days in the Qur’an, indicating their immense virtue: "By the dawn. And [by] the ten nights." — Surah al-Fajr (89:1–2) Many scholars explain that these "ten nights" refer to the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah, emphasizing their unmatched status among all the days of the year.
The Most Beloved Days to Allah ﷻ
The Prophet ﷺ said: “There are no days on which righteous deeds are more beloved to Allah than these ten days.” (Bukhari)
This is a time for:
- Extra worship — through prayer, recitation, and reflection.
- Heartfelt du`a — asking for forgiveness, guidance, and barakah.
- Fasting, especially on the Day of ʿArafah.
- Giving charity and supporting those in need.
- Remembering Allah abundantly through takbir, tahmid, and tahlil.
- Let’s seize these precious days to uplift our hearts, families, and community.
The Day of ʿArafah — Thursday, June 5, 2025
Among the greatest days of the year is the Day of ʿArafah, a day of unparalleled mercy and forgiveness. For those not performing Hajj, fasting on this day carries enormous reward. The Prophet ﷺ said: “Fasting on the Day of ʿArafah expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year.” (Sahih Muslim). Allah ﷻ says: "This day I have perfected for you your religion, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion." — Surah al-Ma’idah (5:3)
Eid al-Adha — Friday, June 6, 2025 | First Prayer at 6:30 AM & Second Prayer at 10:00 AM
We will be celebrating Eid al-Adha on Friday, June 6th, insha’Allah. This day commemorates the legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (ʿalayhi al-salam) and his unwavering submission to Allah’s command. It reminds us of sacrifice, devotion, and reliance on our Lord. "Indeed, this was the clear trial. And We ransomed him with a great sacrifice." — Surah al-Saffat (37:106–107)
