Masjid Vaughan opened its doors on April 15, 2018, as a community project of Risalah Foundation. Situated in the heart of Maple, just a few hundred metres from Vaughan City Hall, the Masjid occupies a historic place of worship whose sacred heritage extends back more than 140 years. Its distinctive mid-century Gothic interior has been carefully restored and reimagined through a North American Islamic aesthetic, creating a space of serenity, beauty, and reverence for Vaughan’s Sunni Muslim community. All praise belongs to Allah Most High for the blessing of this sacred space. Its establishment was made possible through the generosity, sacrifice, and devotion of countless supporters, volunteers, and community members. To each person who had a hand in establishing the first masjid in the City of Vaughan, we offer our enduring gratitude and pray that Allah makes it a lasting source of benefit and reward for generations to come.
