PRE-QURAN CLASSES
Teachers at Masjid Vaughan gently guide students who are not yet reading Arabic through the Pre-Quranic Reader (Qa’ida —letter-by-letter and page-by-page. Teachers emphasize quality over quantity ensuring that students are pronouncing correctly and are persevering with their assignments while in class. Students are expected to memorize some short suras from the Quran.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon successful completion of Level One, students will be able to:
QURAN RECITATION & READING CLASSES
Teachers at Masjid Vaughan will customize the lessons for each student and set goals for memorizing specific parts of the Quran through repetition and independent reading. Students are expected to improve their recitation, memorization and pronunciation through careful listening, repetition, and practice in class and at home.

- Pronounce and recognize Arabic letters and vowel markings by their proper names
- Read short Arabic words with satisfactory pronunciation
- Read the short Suras of the Quran at an entrance level of proficiency
- Begin to read the entire Quran with supervision

Upon successful completion of Level Two, students will be able to:
- Pronounce Arabic letters in complex combinations with proficiency;
- Recite from memory and read Al-Fatiha proficiently with tajweed;
- Recite from memory (or read) Chapters 103 to 114 with satisfactory pronunciation;
- Recite from memory passages of the Quran previously memorized (up to 1 Juzz)
