WHY STUDY FIQH?
Fulfilment of one’s Islamic legal requirements cannot take place without the requisite knowledge. This is an introductory course designed to cover the most common and relevant issues so as to fulfil one's basic Islamic legal requirements of purification, prayer and fasting Ramadan. The content of this course is primarily based on Imam al-Quduri’s (362 - 428 AH) Al-Kitab (also known as Mukhasar Al-Quduri), a recognized authority in the Hanafi school.
COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES:
Upon successful completion of this course, students will reliably demonstrate the ability to:
  • Recognize the importance and benefits of seeking sound Islamic knowledge
  • ​Understand the holistic Islamic framework as it relates to one’s beliefs, worship and spirituality;
  • Know the five (5) Islamic legal rulings and their implications in one’s life;
  • Answer relevant questions regarding purification, prayer and fasting Ramadan; 
  • Perform their rituals of purification and prayer with confidence and accuracy and;
  • Fast Ramadan correctly.
